Kate Louisa Thorpe nee de Bromhead, set up her interior decorating consultancy business in Fulham, London, in 2000. Prior to that Kate was a design assistant to Vivien Greenock at Sibyl Colefax and John Fowler (sibylcolefax.com) at 39 Brook Street, London W1, (viviengreenock.co.uk).

Since returning to her home town of Waterford, in Ireland Kate was approached by Pierre Frey (pierrefrey.com) French fabric house to be the Irish agent, whilst also working on private clients homes. Kate’s ethos has always been to listen to her clients, understand their style and help them create a stylish liveable home they want, whether traditional, contemporary or eclectic.

Kate’s discerning eye and instinct for channelling both old and new has been formed through a lifetime love of collecting furniture, textiles, accessories as well as drawings, pictures and of course gardens. Kate‘s emphasis is on service, budgets, quality, craftsmanship, and longevity. Managing entire projects to installation when required, and to source within Ireland where possible. Kate believes that the best residential decorating is creating an interior that appears “undecorated” –  a layering process, mixing various materials and objects so it seems like a lifetime of assembling one’s favourite things.
